Help!! My radeon 9800 is starting to fry! :(

I just started my comp this morning, and my resulotion was all messed up, it said that my catalyst drivers where ****ed somehow, so I reinstalled. I rebooted and i got an error message telling me my extension power cable wasent connected to my radeon pro ? so I open my case and when I tried to detach the power cable ( who was connected ) I burn myself, it was ****ING HOT. and the comp had only been turned on for like 5 min. and inside the cable it was a little burned.. wtf ?

why ? i had this card like 5 months. it never ever done this before... i havent installed any new drivers of flashed it or anything, not overclocked... i just dont want this card to burn so few days away from hl 2 being released ;( ;(

:| Same thing happened to me, my power cable connector from videocard to HDD, the inside(white part of connector) was like brownish so it was burnt. Like I would get the system beeps indicating my power cable wasnot connected, so therefore it was ****ed up, I replaced it. BAM! Worked like a charm again, although my card never got even close to frying at the time. You have custom heatsink?
