Help :Need PSU Recommendations

My power supply has started to die, and I need some recommendations for a new one, one that could last me into a next upgrade, which I will be making relatively soon. My current one is a 420W generic PSU that came with my chieftech case, and I have been looking at the 420W Thermaltake PSU on newegg, or posssibly a Thermaltake of a higher wattage. Antec's are a little expensive, and my brother has had terrible experiences with them. In the last year or two, his 550W has died three times. So if you have any recommendations/suggestions as to which PSU I should get, please tell them. Thanks in advance

Well first of all your psu was generic which is horrible, wattage can be very misleading, a 420 watt Thermaltake is much better. Antec, Thermaltake, and Enermax are really good. That's just to name three, there's others but I'm not gonna list them all. Here's a Thermaltake that's very awesome:

My Enermax 350W arrives monday, was recommended to me as a relatively powerful PSU that was in my pricerange.

Yeah, I have an Enermax personally.
Antec is overall known for great PSUs.

Thermaltake has a number of solid units, as does Fortron.

Other brand PSU's can be good but they generally do not have as wide of selection for dependable models as the brands listed above. Some are downright poor though.
