Help Needed- Is it possible to have a ghost of your previous life?

Hello folks, I'm hoping to start on a mod, but I'm not sure if one of the features I'd like to incorporate is even possible, so I need a little help.

Would it be possible to have a ghost of your previous life after you've died in a single player game? Just like in a driving game where you can race against a ghost of your previous lap. The "Ghost" doesn't need to be faded out though, it just needs to replay all the actions you made on your previous play through.

Is this even possible in HL2?

Any help much appreciated.

Well, you can have demos, right? So, you could use the same technique they are recorded and played for the ghost. I am not at all sure if that code is even open, and how simple it is to implement.

I reckon it should be possible in principle. As Hep says, it's just a matter of whether Source makes this easy/impossible/a bitch to implement.
