Hey Im in need of some advice here. I just got my 1900xt about a week ago, but my power supply doesnt have any 6-pin connectors for it, and of course the assholes at ati didnt include an adapter in there. So I had to buy a separate cable online, and it just came today. Only problem is its a god damn female molex connector, and all the connectors on the psu are female also. And since no one sells a male-male adapter, Im wondering if it would be alright to rig the 2 female connectors to connect, like stick some sort of metal pin to connect the holes, and fill it in with hot glue or something, and wrap it in electrical tape. All input is greatly appreciated, thanx

I recommend getting the right wires, you dont wanna mess anything up on an expensive card like that, or blow up you psu or anything.

Oh yea forgot to add I got a new psu, think its f-ed up though, doesnt do anything when I turn the power button on. Did a swap for the old one right after and it worked fine. Gonna swap it tomorrow then and see if a new one works.

Check on the back there is a red switch. Make sure its set to 110 vs 220 volts. Also make sure the on/off switch in the back is set to the on poistion.

Well I know its doing something, the power led on my case turns on, thats about it though. Also it doesnt have a voltage switch on it, its one of the newer antecs, noticed there was something out of place when I checked it out lol. Shit I think im just gonna order something like one of those ultra x-connects and return this pos....just this past week has been a real pain in the ass with all this shit...

Ok found what I needed finally, turns out ATI does sell the cables, for some reason I could never find it till I typed it in google :(

Oh well now I just gotta wait for it to get here (next day delivery ftw ;D

After you set you voltage on your PSU to the right US voltage which I think is 110v (PSU should have this value set by default if bought in US for US) Did you connect the four additional CPU connectors (Usually yellow and black pairs) to MOBO somewhere near CPU?

yup did all that, still nothing. Oh well I got everything figured out now, thanx everyone who helped :)

Hehe I'm sorry man but your idea for a fix in the first post makes me laugh.
