Help!!! Phone + email

I need to send an email from my mobile phone (Sony Ericsson K700i) but it doesnt send!! It says something about not being able to connect to server.
I go into settings and see all this stuff about TLS and POP and whatever, all this stuff I've never heard of or seen in my life. wtf?!?! My old phone sent emails without all this nonsense so what do i do???!??!?231

Oh yeah I just tried entering some settings Gmail told me to do and it now says something about a certificate not being right.
I don't understand any of this stuff, I've been using PCs for about 10 years but I've never had to encounter anything to do with email POP servery thingies. ever.

Stomp phone, use PC.

make sure you have internet access for the phone or it will not work or in other words text messaging.

edit: gah i managed to get it working after like an hour.... Used Yahoo POP settings they provided. ftw
