help!!!!!! playing offline

i bought the hl2 silver package through steam, it runs well and everything when i play connected to steam, but whenever i try to play offline it doesnt work, Does anybody know how to run the game offline without login in to steam, i heard that it only required internet for the activation ( which i already completed ) but it still does not let me play it offline HOW DO YOU DO IT

check the box that says remember my login information then it should work
