help please, NPCs not responding ?

Hi all,

I have just started this game. My problem is, when I loaded my saved game for the first time, the Combine soldiers and other NPCs do not react when i come near them. It seems like they cannot see me at all, and the Combine do not shoot me (but i can shoot and kill them).

I have searched around for a solution but have failed to find any. Is this a known bug ? Please help !

he's gonna get this (NPCs not responding) in alot of places in the game, like the colonel cubbage meeting part, he just talks and talks and then looks at you endlessly, like he's attracted to you...
or like the part you get the thing from the antlion guard... the vortie doesn't see you at all and he's just standing there, looking at you, and not letting you in...!
