I have Half-Life 2 Christmas Collection and every time I start Gmod9 from steam after a few seconds of loading the game crashes and this message appears:

MountFilesystem( 241 ) failed: SteamMountFilesystem(3340,241,0x1106fc74=,0x1106fd74) failed with error 5: No Steam Content Servers are avalaible
Then I click OK and nothing happens.

I have all games activated and they are working well. I thnik it has something to do with CS:S because I dont have it. But somewhere else they said me I dont need CS:S. How can I make it run?
Thanks.

Try deleting your Clientregistry.blob. The Clientregistry.blob holds the content server information that you usually automatically connect to. Sometimes Steam will continue to try and connect to it even if it's down, like in your case.

Exit Steam. Delete the clientregistry.blob in the main Steam folder and the platform.gcf file in the Steamapps folder. But make a backup of them first by copying them in another folder! Now restart Steam.

It's CSS, you do need it, regardless of what Facepunch people say.

if you buy ver.10 from steam then i dont think it will matter what game you have. i believe it can run standalone.

It is still didnt works...:( Steam created those files again. Is there any other way how to make it run?

either:
1: get g-mod 10 or
2: go to start, shutdown and go enjoy life.

I had this problem and I found a tutorial to fix it. Thought I'd post a link to it here in case other people are having this problem.

It's running fine, in a stable manner. So far the only reason I'd have to upgrade is that you can't join the latest version of the server which everyone else has the client for.

But I'm poor. So there we go.

[edit]Also. Regardless of whatever Rapstah is saying above. You don't need CS:S at all. I know this because I'm running GMod without it.[/edit]
