Help plz....

I have installed hl2 onto my pc and created a steam acc and was told that i could play hl2 as soon as i done that but when i click on hl2 iccon on my desktop, steam loads up and i have to download some hl2 thing thats like 900mb. Was just wondering if this is normal ??

I think that's what happened to me. But I don't think it DLed anything for me because my hard drive space was the same afterwards. But if you're still not sure, Right click on "Half Life 2" in the "My Games" menu (the little one that appears at the bottom right hand of your screen). Then go to Properties. Then change the "Do Not Automaticly Update This Game" to "Automaticly Update This Game." It will then say "Decrypting Half Life 2 game files." That took half an hour for me. But it didn't dl anything, and I was able to play the game so :S.
