Hi all, before you start whining yes this is a FPS thread dont leave because this one is hard for you all to figure out

Ive tried just about everything, and to be honest its a joke

My PC :

Compaq Celeron 2.8GHZ
768mb RAM
GFX : ATI Radeon 9600xt 256mb

blabla

this should easily be enought to give me around 30 FPS in game

but i get 30 FPS just about and when a couple of enemys walk on the screen and lots of people firing i get around umm say 9 fps

ive tried playing in DX8,DX7 and DX9 a minor fps increase but the still the same problem :

ive tried many console commands in an autoexec.cfg but to no help

surely this is enough to give me 25 fps at least during combat :sniper: , i have everything on low and ive tried updating my drivers before you ask

*looks around* Well its a compaq so thats not helping out the situation, try turning off un-needed services when you play CS:S.

i was hoping for something to increase my gfx or something to increase my cpu thus leading to an FPS increase ive checked taskmanager no dodgey executable's running

wondering if anyone had any tweaks? like graphics enhancers etc that they could share

well you Celeron does not help the problem

Format your drive and install the game on a fresh drive, it will enable you to determine, whether it is a software or a hardware problem.

Are you willing to upgrade? Also, try just totally stopping the explorer.exe while playing - that'll free up a few resources.
