Help!! Stuck, raising water level - screenshot included.

Hi,

Maybe I'm being dumb (I probably am ), but I just can't get past this bit (screenshot). It's only about 45mins into the game. There's an entrance to a pipe down below, but the water level is too low to enter it. There's a yellow sign on the wall saying that the "equipment works automatically" & there are no switches to pull.

There's another room with water at the bottom that I can get to by walking along the pipe, near the ceiling, but again no switches in there.

Any ideas where to go with this one??

go to the top of the ladder(in the room that you have a screenshot of), go left across the pipe up there, then there will be an entrance to another room, jump from pipe to pipe in this room, about halfway down you will find a valve, this raises the water level
