Help with a PC.

I want to make a PC, but i dont know what to get to match the other things i get, and what makes certain things good, like what makes a Processor good?
please just reply if you have some helpful comments that will give me information, advice, or tips, you know, just help me out.

its not hard.

with a mobo, ull want to look for how many pci slots, make sure it supports agp, has ddr400 ram slots, and is an overall stable board.

cpu, simple, if ur going with amd, get an amd board, intel, same thing. JUST MAKE SURE THAT THE SOCKETS MATCH. A SOCKET 939 AMD CPU WILL NOT FIT IN A SOCKET 754 AMD MOTHERBOARD. WATCH THE SOCKETS.

with a video card, just make sure its agp, and itll work on that mobo.

ram, make sure its ddr400, pc3200 is currently the standard and at the same time best ram. so corsair ddr400 pc3200 would be a good buy.

sound card, basically its up to u, if u want 2.1, 4.1, 5.1, 6.1, or 7.1 channel speakers, either way, just make sure u get a sound card that matches ur speakers capabilites. (5.1 speakers should have a 5.1 supported sound card)

drives, its all up to u.

psu, its important to either go with antec or thermaltake. theyre two of the best psu companies out there. also, nothing under 350 watts.

monitor, any monitor u want will fit.

and thats all i can do is basically give u the basics. giving me a price range would help. good luck

Also, make sure the hardware you're getting has good ratings.
