help with Blue SHift on XP

I bought Half Life generations including
Half Life Game of the year
Opposing force
Counter Strike
and blue shift

as my origianls were either damaged or gone due to over use (so im a HL fanatic shoot me)

but this was AFTER i bought a new PC that runs on windows XP that ive had for 2 years (and never had any other problem with)

anyway all play fine except blue shift ewhenever i try to run it i get
a error message pop up about something wrong with hlaf life launcher, ive been on the various websites and FAQ and non of what ive tried can help me including telling it to run under the various options from a previous windows type etc.

Is there any trick to loading it and playing it in windows XP i wouldnt be so bothered but on the Blue shift CD itself it says runs under XP.

Is this before or after install?

If after, go to the exe in whatever folder its in right click on it, select compatibility, then select something different then it currently is.

This might work, but I could be confusing problems and solutions with something else.

Have you downloaded the newest Half-Life patch???

The exe file that comes with the pack doesnt seem to like to start under Win 2000 or WinXP so just download 1.1.0.0 or what it is called and it should run without a problem. Post a new reply if it doesnt work

yeh ive already downloaded the pacth the read me says:
Half-Life: Blue Shift Version 1.0.0.1

but it still doesnt work i'm afraid, is there a more modern patch out?

download the 1.1.1.0 version patch and try that one

the only 1.1.1.0 patch i can find is far half life and ive got that, if you can tell me a website with the blue shift patch on it Id be grateful

Blue Shift has a completely independant executable. It doesn't actually require HL1 to run. Whether you have the original 1.0.0.5 HL patch or the latest 1.1.1.2 or whatever patch doesn't matter. You'll actually just need to make sure that the latest BS patch is installed which you can get here:
