Help with Catalyst Drivers!

I have a Mobility Radeon 9600 and when I try to install any catalyst drivers in the middle of trying to install it an INF error pops up and then says Video Driver Not Found. Can anyone help me with this problem? Half Life 2 freezes at the same spot for me every time I play it. It's really making me angry! :angry:

Do a search for omega drivers on google. The official ati drivers will not install on laptop computers.

I haven't tried using any Omega drivers, but you can also use DhModTool to use standard Catalyst Drivers. Its at:

http://www.driverheaven.net/patje/

Note: for Catalyst 4.10+, you need to edit a few files slightly. (you should be able to find out what to change online)

Also, does anyone know which works better between Omega and DhModded Catalyst drivers?

I did that, but when trying to install I get the message:"this display driver is not compatible with the display adapter installed in your system." What is the problem?

I have a Radeon 9600 and I've tried serveral drivers including ati's official ones and the omega drivers. The one I found the best performance with though is the DNA drivers, they also come with the ATI Tool program that lets you overclock your card.
