Help with CS:S video problem

I start up CS:S, and it says
"Failed to set video mode = falling back to safe mode settings.

Game will now restart with the new video settings."

I hit OK, it pops up again. I hit OK once more and it says:

"Failed to set video mode.

This game has a minimum requirment of DirectX 7.0"

I have a GeForce 5200 FX. I've played CS:S on my computer before. Whats happening?

I've already uninstalled and reinstalled Steam and CS:S, and have also reinstalled DirectX 9.0c

Yep, in fact, the problem started when I installed a driver.

I had the exact same problem, theres something in the update for ur video card that interferes with hl2. ill get the link for u in a few minutes i jsut gotta find it.
