Hi all. Since I got my new HDD which was mid last year (I think) I had the game installed on my old HDD. So on new HDD I installed another copy of windows and wanted to play HL2 there so I copyed all the files and the game went fine. Till recently I haven't been using the 'new' windows (because it had a sound problem which I fixed) so I've been using the 'old' windows and played and updated the game there. When I try to do the same thing I used to do (copy the files to the other HDD) and run steam I saw something I never seen before. It showed HL2 and CS:S and they were unistalled but the files were there. So now I decided to actually INSTALL the game on the 'new' windows and after I did I copyed all the files from the other HDD so I don't have to update all over again (im on 56K Internet connection) the same thing is cooming up. I tryed to download the HL2 and CS:S files from steam but it keep saying that the servers are too busy and to try later again. I went to the folder where HL2 is and when i double click HL2.exe an error comes up saying "Unable to load I:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\eror22\half-life 2\bin\filesystem_steam.dll" I hope I didn't confuse you.
Can you please help me with this?

Try deleting ClientRegistry.blob from Steam directory. Maybe Steam is confused because of the new hard drive and doesn't know where it has its games installed.
Let me know if that helps.

Yep, it worked. Thanks alot. I tryed that once before I actually installed the game and it didn't work so I guessed that there was no point for me to try doing that again but now it worked. Thanks!
