i brought Half life 2(game of the year edition) about a year ago as i wanted to play hl2 and cs. i used to play them on my crappy laptop which didnt run them very well. i now have a better computer and want to play hl2. I installed steam and hl2 and ran all the update that it told me to. But when i go to launch the game, i double click on it and the box pops up saying 'preparing to launch halflife2' this box then disappears and nothin else happens. Does anyone know y this is happening and how i can get over it. This happens with all the games i run though steam. I have directX 9.0c. cheers ben
