How do i make it so a light has a visible corona, as its always a nice effect? There was a corona option in the old version of WC but its not there anymore...also how can i make the 'sun' have a lens flare?

Those are still in there, just under different names.. but the same principals apply, AFAIK.

As for lens flares, do you mean the flare around the sun, or the lens reflection effects?

the lens flare is simple to do, the entity has the word sun in it, there's a clue.. lens reflections aren't so easy, but since those are far too over used. It's a good thing.

I meant how you look into the sun and it gets brighter, and you get those cool kinda balls of light coming off it. Sorta. Thanks for the help ill have a fiddle with the env_sun

Those are lens reflections, and no, those aren't so easy to make. But they as I say are overused and you'd get a better effect without them. Honestly, its very rare for anyone to make lens reflections look good these days.

The flare around the sun is already in there though with an entity for it and looks really nice when used properly.. Can also use it for other things, faking the bloom from bright windows and such.

The light bloom is very cool. Want to make a really eery environment? Make a blood red env_sun on top of a light_env that gives of red light=)

Here's an example of the sun flare effect working, made it overbright so it was easier to see. (sorry it took so long, distractions) also put overlay's in it, and on the water to show they can be used to add more realism on water surfaces, alas with most of the resources not available to use I couldn't use the other more appropriate stuff so will just have to make do.

Remember to use buildcubemaps command aswell.

Sweet thanks for that, its a really cool looking effect...And those overlays look cool too...ill have to start adding them to my map. Thanks :)

np, glad its useful (first time I tried the overlays on the water surface.. very very happy it works.. nothing like leaves floating on water to add that little touch in some maps :))
