HELP with mod

I don't know anything about mods except when I put all the files in the surcemods folder and when I go on steam none of the games show up. Can someone walk me through it? I tried to get hostileintent and braindead to work but niether one works.

braindead? brainbread maybe?

Those two are HL1 mods. You need to have the original Half-Life to play them, and they install into the Steam\SteamApps\username\half-life folder.
