help with view distance plz :(

Hi guys my bro is havin a prob with hl2 these screens are from gmod but the same thing happens when running hl2.

when he is real close objects are fine.

but as he gets further away they disaper really quick.

till they are just gone

is there some way i can fix this for him as on my system i can still see the same object really clear from the other side of the map.

Are you running on DirectX 8? Check your Options menu.

yeah im pritty sure his card will only run dx8

That happens to me. In Half Life 2, in Dark Energy, i'm in the pod, just entered breen's office and I see Alyx before I see her pod.
