can someone please post this file -> "water_pretty1.vmt"

or a working fix so i can enjoy reflections on aztec, i know the water is supposed to be muddy, but having enjoyed reflections with my nvidia5700 i would like to get better quality from my 7800gtx, instead of (IMO) very poor lighting effects on the water.... it looks like plastic at the moment!

sincethe other threads have duff links i would really appreciate a working fix

(please dont post as to how its supposed to be muddy.. I prefer having reflections)

I prefer it when you don't revive 2 two year old threads then start your own on exactly the same topic ...

well drackard instead of posting nothing but abuse why dont u just go and abuse someone else whos trying to fix a problem,

instead of complaining about post bumps why dont u grow up and do what most ppl do on forums... help those asking for help. ppl like u shouldnt post if u have nothing useful to say... and after starting a new thread because i doubted anyone would look at the others i still dont have an answer.

so can someone with maturity to thier nature help me out here please

Mate, in all fairness if you had any sense you would have created this first rather then revive 2 year old dead threads, if i wasn't "Mature" as you put it, i would have been one of those co*ks that just swears and swears.

once again u have posted without helping, if u can help me then post, im sure someone must be able to help.

it is bad forum etiquette to post to a thread that asks for answers and instead of answering you just spam.

and i started a thread after i realised the others were two years old, you would think that a "fix" would get grounded so ppl can access it for years to come, since people will be buying (hopefully) hl2 for many more years it means the fixes need to be there aswell.

again. please post an answer (preferably a moderator) if u have one.

much obliged

Well i decided to have a look for ya as i was in quite a bad mood earlier so i apologise for that ;) .. anyway, i searched everywhere and all the links to the files are either Broken, forbidden or missing, seems as though it's totally unavailable wherever i go ... i'll keep looking but i think it may have been stopped or something.

thankyou for your help, i am also on a continuous lookout, im slightly miffed that i had a fix for it using my 5700, but for my dx9+ 7800gtx card theres nothing....:x

i will keep looking, hopefully someone will already have the fix to hand from way back and help me out

if i do find anything (which is getting unlikely) i will post a solution here..

but please please someone HELP MEEE.

(and i know the water is supposed to be murky but for me it looks like sand-blasted plastic with bad lighting under it. i would prefer lovely reflecting water, so i can see my beautiful face :p )

Can you post a pic of what the water looks like for you?

aztecwater.JPG

here is what it looks like using nvidia7800gtx all settings on max af4 aa8

i would like it to reflect like the examples shown in thread "Anyone know how to fix Aztec water " on page two, there are two pictures there.the first is below.

http://www.halflife2.net/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=10815&d=1097536109

as i have said i had this fix for dx8.1 lvl gfx card, but not one for dx9.

i really hope you can help me, aztec is my favourite css level and i get most of my enjoyment from wonderful visuals coupled with immersive gameplay, the visuals mean alot to me.

water_pretty1.vmt is the name of the file, unfortunatly there is no file there for me to download, the other threads on this subject did at one point have a link to "water_pretty1.vmt" but that link has expired...:frown:

thanks for looking, i am still trying to find the file tho..... i cant believe i cant get this towork, it should be really easy!

any more help would be appreciaited

Yep thats all i got while searching for ya .. broken and expired links .. was quite annoying :|
