Help!!!

Half life 2 episode one. Original Copy
pentium 4 3.0
radeon 9600

HELP!! i get to the end of the first level where you go threw thoughs glowing blue doors and theres a blue lit up hallway with a bunch of soldiers at the end.. and the girl can run up there but as soon as i cross the first wall the screen goes blank.. but i can still see my health and all that yellow info? but everything else is BLACK i run back past that wall and everything goes back to normal, i see everything but as soon i pass the wall again same thing happens. any ideas????

Try verifying your game cache files.

Steam games list > HL2 Ep1, right click > Properties > Local Files tab > 'Verify integrity of game cache...'

original copy meaning i brought it. it's not downloaded. i tried verifying the game cache files but didn't work. im going to try unistalling the game hopefully it works.

well i reloaded the game but no luck. still have the problem. its at the start of level 2!
