I'm trying to argue with someone that putting an x800 in a 1ghz machine will be a complete waste of money and it will perform similarly to for example an ati 9800 in the same machine. Can someone please point me to a site that runs benchmarks to prove this?? thnx

X800pro vs 9800pro on AMD
x800pro vs 9800pro on Intel
Video card performance on 1Ghz to 2400+ AMD

Looking at those benchmarks, just at Farcry 4 AA and 8 AF. I see that a P4 3.2 Ghz wins over Atlon 64 3400+

I thought the Athlon cards were better? Allso since its 3400+ shouldn't it perform like a 3.4 Ghz P4?

The graphics cards were using different drivers. That should account for any performance difference.
