Help!

Im a poor college student and i reaally want to play half life 2 at a respectable level. I will have about £250 soon and need to upgrade my PC.

I Have:
1600 AMD
256 Mb Ram
And A GeForce 64mb Graphics Card


Can anyone alocate my money for me, and recommend what hardware to buy to run it at a medium-high level. I could push £300 if needed.

A med. level eh....
Maybe 512 MB Ram
A DX8 based vid card, a Radeon 9200 or 9500 maybe
and about a 1.8 ghz processor or above

the 9500 is a directX 9 card....

I'd usggest buying a new video card, like a Radeon 9600 PRO or a 9500PRO (or a 5600 Ultra if you love nVidia)

Then buy another 256MB stick of RAM

ya, ur processor is fine, sum people may suggest another 256 MB of RAM, but it's not of the most importance, get a new video card 1st. i suggest a GeForce4 TI4200 or RADEON 9600 Pro. both are decent cards, but the 9600 pro is about 15 pounds more and is DX 9. while the Ti4200 is DX8 and a little bit cheaper
