hey, i was kind of wondering if you guys can help me with this really gay problem!!...see,,i jus bought a radeon 9600 like last month...and i adjusted the color like brightness and gamma for my desktop..because i needed the brightness for cs 1.6, then i downloaded SOURCE...its awesome...but everytime i click source..my desktop brightness and gamma resets itself..everytime..i donn't know the problem is..i asked everyone that knwos abt computer and crap..i even try to downloaded the new drive for ati radeon 9600..da source is emporio the crack..it gets on my nerves!..anybody kno what to do...dam i swear..if anyoen figures it dis problem i'll pay dem!

Have you tried turning up the brightness for the GAME, instead of your GFX card?

umm..so do i add..Game...and select that instead of Generic Profile?

umm..i tried it, it doesnt work..everytiem i go into source..da brightness and gamma options still has to reset itself...so i have to right click>settings>advanced>colors to fix it =[

I used to have that problem all the time, I dont know why either. Might be your monitor gaying over... I upgraded and havent had the problem since, but i kept my radeon 8500 which means it probably isn't the gfx card's fault...

I have this exact same problem. Only source games do this. My monitor is a bit dark so I have the gamma turned up so I can view my desktop better. It isn't the monitor that is having the problem as other games do not do this. I'm on a 9800 pro.
