Hi, does anybody know any good unix books or sites where i can get help for my unix PC?

Because the last post before today was on the 17th of August, and the post that resurrected it was pointless. Necromancy is generally frowned upon in polite society.

Hey Zerimski this is offtopic, and I'm sorry Dr.Who. But why is this topic closed http://www.halflife2.net/forums/showthread.php?t=31641 , seriously I see no rules broken and for some reason it is closed, it doesn't make sense, lately this is happening often, what is the reason behind this.
That was me who closed that, and yes, we don't like old threads being dragged up by pointless posts.

XD Rule number one in forum etiquette: Use the search button
Cept whenever people do; you close the thread -_-
I've noticed this a lot, it bothers me.
I really dont see how old threads hurt being open

Rule number two: Don't hijack threads >_>

Too true.

Let's rewrite the rule:
1: Use the search button
When you find a thread on the subject, read it.
If it's a new thread, and it doesn't answer your question, post in the thread.
If it's an old thread, and it doesn't answer your question, start a new thread.

Precisely. A lot of old threads are dragged up with

'Yeah I agree'

Which pisses me off no end :)

Yea, some people are morons
But how does closing the thread help any :-/

If a thread is dragged up with a relevant addition to the discussion, that's fine. However, that thread was dragged up by the guy who made the thread in the first place, to basically say he agreed with himself.
