I am on aol and recently upgraded to the new drivers for my modem that they sent me (bt 100 modem). Since then i cannot play half life 2 deathmatch as my computer never finds any servers. I can get on the net no probs and i have checked my firewall and made sure half life 2 has the correct permissions. If anyone else has had this problem or knows what i could try i would be very gratefull.... cheers

Get a U.S. Robotics Modem.
Blow up A.O.L company.

HL2 Deathmatch on a 56k...ecspecially AOL 56k... I guess on a 56k it is somewhat playable...but on AOL 56k.... umm...is it playable?


I recommend U.S. Robotic Modems..... quite nice.

I'm guessing the reinstallation of modem drivers forced the disconnection and reconnection of your modem to your PC, probably making XP think it's a different net connection, and slapping its own default firewall on it. If this is the case, disable it. If it isn't, I can't help you. Ditch AOL.

im with, at the time called BTopenworld. (there was also BT broadband along with it, but we went openworld)
