when i go to start CS source, the popup comes up saying...

your video drivers appear to be out of date, could cause problems if you continue... we recommend you follow link below, update video drivers to latest version...
Windows version... Windows XP
Description... NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5700

problem is i don't know which one to download from the given site. i've downloaded 3 already...

but when i go and click on it to install, it says accept and all that, opens up some Nvidia installer, then as soon as that opens up with Nvidia in the background, message comes up saying...

The NVIDIA Setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware, setup will now exit.

On the other hand, if i say Continue without updating, start a new game, everything opens up fine, bots join teams, but then i can't move and the pistol flashes, 5 secs later it's back to a black screen with the little window saying "reconnecting to server or establishing connection" something like that.

can someone please help me as i really really want to play cs source. thanks in advance

I was getting that message for ages, just ignored it and everything worked fine.
Then I eventually got around to updating my drivers, and was still getting the same message for ages.
I don't know that the link Steam gives you is necessarily the correct one - I'd try going in through your driver software and looking for an update option in there.

Go start - run and type in dxdiag. Click the display tab and let us know what it says under name and manufacturor.

Have you tryed uninstalling your old ones first? I'm guessing here, as it should work as it is.

no i haven't. how would i do that? i'll be rebooting my comp in the next few days so i'll try again after that. thanks though for all the help
