Hello all, I'm part of the mod "Here on out" You can find the web site here:

http://www.hoo.metagamez.net/

We are sponsored by metagamez.net.

We are looking for modelers, skinners, animators and someone willing to guide are coding team who has allot of experience.

You can read our concept on our forum, so please sign up and read. Our goal is to be on www.planethalflife.com within a few weeks and we can show all our renders and concept art we have thus far.

We have allot of talent! We are sponsored and have free CS:S servers as well as Teamspeak Servers, we have many ways to communicate! Please if you know anyone that can help, pass the link on because it's hard to find good help these days!

P.S. I noticed most people aren't taking the time to read the concept, just please do, I can guarantee you will love it :)

Read your full design doc. didnt fall in love with it, didnt hate it either. i guess it all depends on the visual style. there seems to be a few "post apocaliptic gang" type mods being worked on tho...

I do however like your idea for the different control points with the factories attached to them, and the different bonuses gained at them.
the design doc seemed a bit sparse tho, maybe its good for a starting doc.
modeling maps baised off of cities will take freaking forever! the payoff however could be worth it.
but lets take a look at realistically how long it would take. ok so to model a basic building that would be fully distructible would probably take around 5 - 8 hours (for a fast modeler with the proper drawings/plans, and for a small sized building, and thats not counting idle/wasted time) now lets say you want to have roughly 15 buildings (probably would want alot more) to use and then you can re-use some of the stuff that is already in source as well. ok so multiply 15 by the average of 5 and 8 (6.5) and thats 97.5 hours just for the building models to start with, not including UV mapping or texturing or whatever scripting you have to do to make your model to work correctly in the game.

now if you wanted to recreate every single building within a certain radius your production time would skyrocket. just something to keep in mind. (thousands of hours for buildings alone) also things are alot harder to recreate without proper blueprints/drawings, especially if you want them distructible... without proper art, modelers tend to work alot slower (at least i do)

Not every building will be accesable because that's just unreal ,so yes your right to some point. R_speeds will always remain a factor, so having the inside of each building done is impossible.

Also, what is meant is that the basic layout of the city will be there, for instince the church will be in the church spot, with the building next to it as it is in real life. Also a guy I know will take pictures of the buildings, so I can make textures out of the signs and a few other things.

Basicly, when it all comes together it will look like london after WWII :)

Thank you for taking the time and reading.
