Ok well I could have asked this in another topic but it was already straying off topic and i didn't want to take it any further than it already was, Me and a friend found some really cheap plane tickets round trip from here (US) to London, I want to know if any of you guys can recommend a reasonably priced place to stay while where there for a week (and if you can, how much should we expect to pay for a room $usd) also could ya recommend some good places to check out while we are there? We plan to go after the holidays sometime probably around Feb. March.. something like that.

(ps. I appologize if my spelling, sentence structure/grammer is bad, please forgive me :cheese: )

I've been to London once, and I stayed at something called...Queensgarden? Something with "Queen..."
It was fairly cheap

Was it pretty comfortable? My friend I plan to go with, has been there as well on a school tip, he said where they stayed it was very expensive and not very much room at all I don't recall where he said they stayed though.

The best and cheapest hotels in London are around the area of Whitelees

You can take bus Number 16 from HydeParck to Whitelees Then ask there for Hotels or (Look around for White Huge Buildings There are 50 roads every Roud full of Hotels they all whites).

By the way there are 1,2,3 * hotels in that area only No more than 4* I think and the Price range cost between £30-70 a day depends on the number of stars. I hop this helps.

That does actually! Thanks Gorgon i'll look into it more
Also whats the best way NOT to look like a tourist while i'm there

i live near Heathrow airport and there's shitloads of hotels nearby. they start from around £30 ($50) a night. of course it'll depend if you're flying into heathrow or gatwick or stansted.

there's loads of places to visit. i think you can buy a visitors guide from the airport terminal. they deal with all the touristy activities, but if you're after the real london, check out www.thisislondon.co.uk it lists pretty much everythint that's going on in london.

have fun!

Go to the Generator Hostel, its not a hotel and most people there are Hitchhiker types. But its great. Cheap, clean, nice looking and surpirsingly comfortable. We went there on our Art trip to London, and it was so much fun. I met some Australian guys who would not talk about rugby. Cant think why...

Anyway, thats a really cheap place and its nicly located. However, you might want something better. Since i live in Manchester, my knowledge of places to stay in London is limited.
