I love HHGG, Douglas was one hell of a writer and since I lived my childhood without religion, HHGG filled that out in some way.
HHGG changed me alot, and formed the humor (houmor, eh Douglas?) I have today. Since I'm an asshole on these forums, you'll just have to trust me that I'm alot diffrent in real life.

The teaser for the movie seems to start out good, keeps his satire.

He's the reason I always bring a towel with me in the car, backpack or boat.

42!

Is this a brand new teaser, or the one that was unleashed a few months ago?

Nothing new here no, same one... can't wait for this movie though. :D

The one that was released a few months ago, but alot of people seemed to have missed it so I thought that it was a good idea to post it.

Didn't bother to search, though. :)

Doesn't seem to be working really. :) You should have named the topic Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, rather than HHGG. :)

Well, most people should know what I'm talking about.

Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy.

A very good story, I suggest you buy the books.

For the British people here, you might be interested to know its coming back on the radio again.

I watched the trailer and thought: -
 :O  :rolling:
in that order.

Oh my...i can't wait. A movie that will make the Passion Of The Christ look like...like...Terminator 3 .

edit: Do you know what this movie means to humanity, oh my....wow.

edit2: and in actually fact, it should of been hhgttg, not bloody hhgg. :|

A piccie from the movie: http://www.h2g2movie.com/pages/august06.html
Arthur Dent played by Martin Freeman, and Ford Prefect played by the rapper Mos Def.

Ford looks very self-confident and calm (just like in the books), just didn't picture him looking so nerdy :P

Is that 2 headed, 3 armed alien making a return, and his secretery/the blonde woman as well?

What the hell????

Ford is BLACK!?? :rolling:

Has he always been black? I've only read the books in swedish, so it might've been there but might've not come across properly. I think I saw HHGG comics sometime, I can't remember a black Ford...

Disclaimer: I am not racist, I'm just confused! :D

Edit: I "was" not comics, I "saw" comics...

Will it be on Radio4 Farrow?
Il give it a listen if i can, i love the books. They are so funny but some up with some really serious issues. fantastic :)

Ahhh HHGG...thank god someone spelled it out or I would have been lost. Is the book worth reading? I might read it after I finish A Brief History of Time.

Yse Foxtrot...worth it indeed :D

I think it is radio 4 rocker

I was wondering about the whole Ford being black thing...Never came across it really.

Is he black? i dont tihnk it was specified in the book, it isn't important, aslong as they don't make him some american gangster character... i always imagined him as a suited guy, sort of like the G-man but Kevin Spacey looking :P

Suicide42

I RULE

sorry, just when someone mentions the genius of Douglas Adams i go into a crazy, hyper, exitable mood.

CHEESE

they didnt say he was white either, he could have been green, mos def is a good actor, so its coo

Its not that I have a problem with him being black exactly...but...well when you read a book you build up an image of what someone looks like, and frankly my image of Ford wasn't black :) I really think they chose the right guy for Arthur, he will fit that role perfetly. I'm jsut wondering about the other characters...what will Marvin be like? ;O

I'll be listening to that, radio version is great (watch me go forget)

The first book was the only one I enjoyed, the rest seemed a little boring.

Anyone else catch the 42 in the upper left towards the end?
