Hi, I am deaf and I wonder that HL2 will have subtile or closed captain? Snice hl dont have it. So HL2 will not included it too?

I think they mentioned something about sub-titles, aye :)

Im about 99% sure they said they would be included. :)

yes there will be an otpion for subtitles hopefully, im sure there will be :)

most newer games seem to have subtitles so i'd suppose hl2 would have them as well.......btw Tredoslop and D33 where did you get ur icons at?

Yep sub titles are available through the options menu.

Was the only person who think halo horribly needed sub-titles. Cuz the dialog was so ****ing quiet, and always lost in the action.

I'm pretty sure it will have them. I'm not 100% sure but I think I read it someone in the 'Info from valve ONLY' thread that it will.

A friend found this on the net and gave it to me.

I'm currently playing Freelancer with no sound ( buggy Microsoft crap ) and everytime there's a five minute conversation I have to read about ten minutes worth of logs ;(

<----------------Got it from the internet
Oh, and D33, someone at the Unreal 2 forums stole your avatar.

yeah but reading is good. I guess you guys don't like to play RPG's eh?

I want to hear real statement from Valve staff to say "YES" about subtile!! Pleeaassee!! I was pissed off that Halo doesent include subtile!

Yes, there are subtitles. The same structure which carries the facial
information also carries subtitles.

It's a regret of mine that we didn't do this with HL-1, and I'm glad we are
remedying it with HL-2.

Subject: HL2 audio questions

Hello! I was reading hl2.net's forums for an answer to this question, but
couldn't find it (and I admit it's probably not something much people think
or care about but...)

Question: Will there be subtitles in the game? If so, will the subtitles
be available at all times (both at run-time and during cinematic movies, if
any exist)

Reason I ask is that I'm deaf and unable to understand speech without
lipreading. Yes I've tried to lipread the actors in the E3 demos, and I
could ***almost*** do it, but not quite Maybe in Halflife 3?

Thanks!
-Pete

Okay, now you can yell at Parabellum

why would i do that? his question is somewhat valid, other than the fact that every game has sound so i dont know how well sound queues would work.

My cousin died of an epileptic fit..

Ckabusk - I imagine we probably have a few deaf people idling around in this community. Who they are I'm afrad I just don't know but if you do a forums search on the word "deaf" you might get some results.

Actually after doing a brief search.. probably not.
