High ping since Update

Im getting very high ping since the update. I was like 70-60.. now im like 130-150. Does any one else have this problem???

Yeah I have been having wierd ping problems also. When I go Refresh All it comes up with horrible pings like 100+ and im on cable and used to get pings in the 14s. But once I click View Server Info and individually refresh it from that screen the ping goes down from like 120 to 50-70 like normal. Kinda wierd and annoying because I have to refresh each server individually.

I haven't got the update yet but have you checked your connection settings in options?

Early updates used to reset the connection setting beck to 28k modem

the update has fixed player movements, bot problems, added a few textures, and stopped people getting to ledges in de_train (i know what they mean lol).

i had high pings after the update, but its more than likely to be that people all around the world and clogging up steam by d/ling the update at the same time. it cant take it all so it slows down under the pressure.

you have to understand how much stress is on valve and therefore steam, and the way we give them complaints etc is just stupid. we dont know the half of what they go through everyday

my favorites are gone, and they wont come back, and if a add a new one it wont show in the list :'(

It lags, because Steam is still downlading in the background. Even though you can play it is still working.

Thanks I went back and check my setting and they where set to 56K modem. Changed to T1 Lan and my pings are back to normal.... I have been getting high ping for three weeks and thought it was my switch to SLI....
