Hitman Absolution announced

Fingers crossed that it's more Silent Assassin and Contracts than Blood Money.

Yeah, I much preferred Blood Money in terms of mechanics and polish. I mean story hasn't been much of a strong point in any case.

Blood Money was good, but I dunno, I just preferred 2 and 3. The atmosphere has always been a strong selling point of the series for me, and I don't think it was captured in BM the same way as in earlier titles.

[edit] I MAY be mixing up Contracts and Blood Money. I'll admit it's been a few years since I've touched the series >_>

Make it just like blood money and i will be ALLLL over this. I ****ing LOVE hitman! :D

You probably mean Contracts, because Blood Money was fantastic in its atmosphere I think, much moreso than Contracts.

Wasn't Contracts just recycled levels from the first game? I didn't play the first one, so please correct me if I am wrong.

Excited to play this nonetheless.

Blood Money was the game that finally got all the mechanics right that they had tried to do for 3 previous games. If the new one is like Blood Money I will buy any collectors edition they put together for it day one.

It's not a remake. They don't have every mission from the original game. They were redesigned to match Contract's standards. Traditions of Trade is a good example. It's my favourite level in the entire series. While I like the look and simplicity of the Contracts version, I prefer the complexity of the original, even if

F*ck yeah, hopefully i'm actually going to finish this one!

I guess we will use a rattlesnake as a weapon?

No I think that's been part of the 'logo' or whatever you want to call it since forever.

Wouldn't doubt that was intentional, to drum up the press. I support that because it's ****ing hilarious.

Okay, but after this I want a ****ing Freedom Fighters 2!

P.S. Yes I know that Freedom Fighters was published by EA, but I still want a new Freedom Fighters game by IO Interactive :(

I never beat any Hitman other than Blood Money.:(

In Hitman 2 I got to one of the Afghan levels before I gave up(I played it on the XB1), Contracts I stopped at the level with the shoot-out on a big boat between police and criminals.

The first I've never even tried.

Maybe I should buy the Steam pack and try to finish each of them, hard to find the time though.

You need to have a lot of patience and time to beat Hitman 2. It's the hardest Hitman game to date (Contracts is probably the easiest one).

Awesome, I have been eagerly awaiting this title for a while. I do feel all the games had their strengths, some games performed better in areas where other games fell short of the mark. I do think Blood Money was overall, the best Hitman game, it was good enough to keep me going until I completed it anyway, and the whole accidents approach and newspaper articles was a very nice touch.

I felt in all the Hitman games before BM that the disguise mechanics were rubbish, you could be doing fine for the entire level and then suddenly one lone guy reveals who you are just by looking at you. I felt BM was just a lot more polished in general.

I wonder if its too much to hope that they'll use a good behavioral animation system like this

graphics look nice but lookin at them worries me in the tone of the game.

I swear to bloody christ if they dumb this game down it very well could be my own personal biggest gaming disappointment since mirror's edge ;(

What in those screenshots would suggest a dumbing down of the game?

I'm hoping they include more urban missions set in hotels or streets, I don't really enjoy the sort of military base ones...

looking at the fame of callofdutyfy everything I wont be surprised and it will unleash tons of amount of rage from the internet

The devs probably realised that those missions were silly and thankfully Blood Money didn't have any of those.

They're in game shots.

They need to give their clothes new shaders. It looks like 2007's plastic graphics.

I like that style of shaders, so long as it's used consistently, which thankfully it is in these shots. I don't need Hitman to be photorealistic to be enjoyable and gritty.
