dunno if this has been posted but there's a new(to me) trailer up on their site... trailer 3
http://www.eidos.co.uk/gss/bloodmoney/index_uk.html

this game looks AMAZING! im a big fan of the series so i suppose my opinion is a little biased
but i love how they're planning on putting in a 'notierity' system whereby you can choose to or not to clean up after a messy hit, and if you don't your notierity meter climbs and more and more people start to recognize you because of all the evidence that has been popping up
i must say im as excited about this title as any other planned for 2006! cant wait!!
:smoking:

i loved every Hitman and this one is looking the best so far, im just mad its not coming out for the 360

If you pass me a fifty, I can...convince the developers to release it on the 360.

omg, finally missions that aren't in either barren cities with 2 people walking around or huge military facilities

A REAL HITMAN GAME! WOOT!

Sounds very intriguing, the level of realism it's talking about hints that a certain... law-figure out there might end up attacking the game.

No 360 version what were they thinking. Ohh wait they started to make the game long before they new about a 360 console.

I guess i'll have to get it for PC.:)

Yes, I keep going on about this, but - blood decals on bodies are back in.

This cannot be stressed enough. Blood Money is going to rule :D

Edit: By the looks of things, Eidos have sent newsletters to fansite owners announcing that the ship date is April 11th. Not too far away.

i loved every single one of these games...looking forward to this release very much

Been waiting for this one for a while now. Great graphics and realism is exactly what a Hitman game needs :)

Looks great, seems great...just hope it is great.

Remember, we have been hyped about Hitman games in the past, and they have not often achieved their potential. This one -could- change the trend

downloaded it, man that was awesome, i love the first setting, the american neighbourhood, looks superb, lol when he hits the guy over the head with the fire extinguisher

hopefully it'll be better than contracts, silent assassin was teh pwn!

I think that SA was horrible, none of the missions seemed realistic (ninjas, wtf), however contracts had less military-facility-magical shit missions

Looks shit.
Sad that they have to release supposedly top-end titles for ps2 and xbox as well as pc. It obviously prevents the game from even getting close to the potential it could have had.

Did he just push santa claus over the edge? lmfao...

yeah those japanese missions are generally the ''forgotten'' missions among the fans, no-one really likes them but the first mission in sicily, the russian ones and the ones in india was it?(Graveyard shift, jacuzzi job) were awesome, i loved 'Death Of Hannelore' too particurly since it was f**k hard to pull it off silently...terminal hospitality was good too...

I'll wait for reviews before I get it. I liked the 1st one, but all after that haven't interested me much.

I hated the ninja ones in SA because they were too damn hard. Goddamn ninjas.

contracts is the best, and this series if ****in' hard

I love the series, but was contracts a huge kick in the balls or what! Remaking old missions in a sequal!

Yes because only games that are made for the PC are ever good.

You fascist.

I may be a fascist, but you are incredibly stupid if you think that developing on ps2 and xbox alongside pc does not hold the game back.

Yeah, they should only develop it for the X-Box ! ! ! <3

Yeah, so how is the game? I mean, with a statement like this you must have actually played it, right?

Absolutely loved the first one, the second and the third one was ok. Can't wait for Blood Money.

So, you do not think that ps2-compliancy will hold back this game? You do not think that this game could, and indeed would, be better if they focused on one platform (preferably next gen or pc) instead of releasing on 2 antiquated platforms as well as pc?

I have not played the game, but based on previous experience with a lot of games I can predict that being launched on ps2 is not a good thing for the overall quality of the game. I can understand why a console-freak would disagree, I mean, what could possibly be better than the ps2, right?, but I'm not a console freak. I'm more of a tech-freak.

It could be ps2-game of the century, but it wont be pc-game of anything.

Advice: Your title suggests you should make your remarks a little less arrogant in the future. You will notice I have no such title, so the former sentence does not apply to me.

The irony. You talk of arrogance with others...yet...Wow.

Silent Assassin was made for the Xbox, PS2, and PC. That got better reviews than the original did all across the board (Which was only for PC). And I don't care if it is a gaming masterpiece on the PS2, I'm getting it for Xbox or PC.

I don't know what Hitman games you've been playing in the past; both Silent Assassin and Contracts were co-developed on the PS2 and Xbox, and the PC counterparts were fantastic games.

Besides, this iteration of the game is going to be very different between the console and PC versions. The previous two games have had little differentiation besides texture size limits, but Blood Money's using a slew of techniques - bump/normal mapping, specular details, HDR etc. that obviously won't be present in the console versions, so I'm not seeing where this 'restriction' is showing.

Oh, and I'll voice what I like thank-you very much. Just because I'm a moderator doesn't mean I'm not allowed to make note of how foolish your comments were.

I don't think you quite understood the part of my post that you quoted.

As for silent assassin, that may be. I didn't play it, and I don't know when it shipped, but right now we are at 2006 and the ps2 is outdated. I know why developers still go crossplatform with the ps2 (money money money) but I don't like it. It does not benefit the games, and nobody can deny that with a straight face.

Strange. I have never been an admin anywhere that does not have 1. Be polite! 2. Be polite! 3. Whatever happens, be polite. as the opening of the adminrules.

As for the hitman series, the cross-platform development may have worked out in the past, I never could get into those games, but I think 2006 is a little too late for including ps2 in "cross-platform". That is from a gameplay and tech-perspective, not from an economic perspective. Which is the part that I understand, but think is sad.

You're the one who called him arrogant when he was just being sarcastic.

Problem: **** graphics, the gameplay's what matters, and a PS2 is not going to restrict that. It certainly didn't with Contracts.

The huge strength of Hitman has always been the wide variety of options available, laying a big map in front of you and saying 'now...go forth and assassinate. Any way you wish.' The sheer range of options available to the player is brilliant, and there really is not better feeling than a successful hit with Silent Assassin rating. However, the games have always failed in the following ways: they don't give enough room for improvisation outside of certain scripted 'strings' (multilinear instead of non-linear to some extent) and that they allow the player to literally run through the level guns blazing. NO.

Contracts was the best yet, and if you play it without letting yourself run around blasting everybody, it easily deserves 85% or so. If you start blowing shit up everywhere, it becomes a mediocre shooter.

Loved Silent Assassin. Easy game to go around shooting everybody so I'd always try and be very sneaking...never letting anyone have any idea what I was up to....game became an A+.

all the animations look a bit stiff to be convincing.

NEW PREVIEW

Hitman in da hood G!

Call it unwarranted hype if you want, but the team is doing so many things graphically that it's quite unbelievable. For instance, IO is implementing bump mapping, specular highlighting, shader models, refractions, and more on PS2. It was once believed that PS2 couldn't even handle bump mapping. Additionally, IO told us the game will look amazing on PC, practically next-generation level from a graphic standpoint, and should easily be one of the best looking games on PS2 and Xbox. So when you see these visuals, keep in mind the game will improve drastically.
:O

Duh, as someone said, the animations are very stiff. These definitely are not Sam Fisher's moves ;).

And go to 01:08 in the trailer - what the hell was that supposed to be, a ragdoll (the guy that got shot)?

Looks pretty sweet when he jumps from balcony to balcony.

The game is gunna rock IMO:)
