that's supposed to be Agent 47? ...looks wimpy

I like that actor( just from deadwood0 but yea he looks pretty wimpy, he should have bulked up more imo or they should have just got Vin Diesel..

Either way this film is based on a video game...so it's going to suck.

That's the dude from Deadwood...he ain't a wimp

I guess if he wasn't smiling he would look quite a bit like Agent 47. Looks just like him from behind. But yeah, the movie will probably suck, be nice if it didn't though!

Well if they can get Silent Hill right, there's a possible chance they can get this right.

I dunno why everyone thought Silent Hill was a step up from any other vidgame movie..causei thought it blew.

Well for video game adaptation it was above average, if you look at previous video game ports to the silver screen, Silent Hill was acceptable and even entertaining for some viewers. Movies like Doom, Street Fighter, Mario Bros etc... are why people thought Silent Hill was better. At least that's how I rationalize it.

20th Century Fox: "Agent 47 (Olyphant) has been educated to become a professional assassin for hire, whose most powerful weapons are his nerve and a resolute pride in his work. 47 is both the last two digits of the barcode tattooed on the nape of his neck, and his only name.

The hunter becomes the hunted when 47 gets caught up in a political takeover. Both Interpol and the Russian military chase the Hitman across Eastern Europe as he tries to find out who set him up and why they're trying to take him out of the game. But the greatest threat to 47's survival may be the stirrings of his conscience and the unfamiliar emotions aroused in him by a beautiful, damaged girl..."[

It IS going to suck.

In a Hitman movie, Hitman should surely be the villain.

Cold, implacable, unstoppable, anonymous; he doesn't feel pain, or fear, or remorse, and he absolutely will not stop until he has eliminated his target.

If he's the same as in the games, he won't make a very interesting or personable protagonist.

yes he can, making the "villain" as protagonist instead of the good guy

but as allways, formulas is the only creative thing here

The three sequels fleshed out his character well. It can be done. Blood Money showed he was capable of feeling. Contracts showed his own view on what he did. Silent Assassin showed him taking in religion, then pushing it back away. And he never killed anyone who didn't have it coming.

Except once or twice.

They have good material to work with his character. Its just obvious they won't use any of it.

This is one film that could work really well from a game adaption since the storyline can be made up to fit the context of the game, to make it suite a film genre. I think they put a girl and love interest in it to show a comparison in character, maybe have the first half of the film, show this cold, unremorseful killer who will stop at nothing to kill the set target, and show that this guy could actually have feelings.

So basically, the exact same story spewed out of hollywood for about the 10000th time.

He doesn't look too well suited for the Hitman role because he looks too young.

To young for the role for sure. From what iv seen he isnt a bad actor might be able to pull it off, but he just doesnt look it.

oh and just for the Record Silent Hill was a ****ing kickass movie!

He's too young and not big enough, but that isn't the problem. The character can undergo minor changes like that, no big deal. Olyphant is a hell of a lot better than Diesel anyway, at least he has a voice that would work (and oh yeah, he's an actor).

The problem is the storyline. It misses the point entirely. You want to see him perform a series extremely complicated assassinations that are somehow all interconnected, with a large dose of character development along the way. You don't introduce a damn love interest and make the main character run from danger the whole time. That completely removes him from his element - the cold, sophisticated, ruthless killer that he is. I guarantee you we'll see him running around avoiding bullets and shooting people up more than anything else.

The entire concept looks like gay. I won't dismiss the actor out of hand, but his face looks a bit too smooth and not lined...

hahahaaa.. what a wuss
Seriously.. well lets hope it'll be good... you'll never know if they.. NAAAAH ! it's going to suck!

i would have prefered a story akin to silent assassin...
- 47 looking for redemption
- flashbacks to his creation
- wanting to save the priest to get some atonement
- finally accepting what he was 'born' for, to be a killer etc...

Ok first of all, just watch Deadwood for the love of god, or hell even watch The Girl Next Door to see how badass he can be.

I think once he starts talking and acting, youll forget that he looks too young or not badass enough.

No way is he really the porn pimp from the girl next door ?

haha holy shit, it must just be a terrible photo or something. but still, 47s only love interest should be his love of murder.
