HL music

As many people say, I think the music in Half-Life was very cool and appropriate. Recently I was browsing through the steam folders and came across the music in HL. The dissapointing thing was there were only 17 songs (not very many for a 30+ hour game). The thing I was wondering was, what happened to the #1 song? There are the songs 'Half-Life02-Half-Life17' but no song called 'Half-Life01'


This is after installing steam so maybe it got lost in the process.

Well I have Half-Life01 in my folder.

I don't think I can, whenever I try I get a 404.

If you have the original Half-Life CD you're better getting them off that, they're only 44kbit in the Steam folder, but off the CD they're 128 kbit I think.

However, will they just be loose on the CD? Not compressed into something?

Ok, I got them. They weren't visable when you explored the CD but the media player loaded them.

What annoys me is how Steam uses the HL music for Opposing Force. At least it does for me. I really liked the OpFor music...

When I first played the games (sp) I didn't remember any music. Now that I go back and replay them I hear the music and relize it's really cool.

The first track is the best one.. that ambient thing when you ride the train

Half-Life07 is my favorite because it is very creepy. It starts out with bugs chirping, and then goes "boooo." Very cool song and very Scif-fi scary.

I'm assuming you have to play the HL campaign before the tracks show up?

prospero01 is the beggining song while you are in the tram.

I think you do have to play sp before they show up.

I started listening to them before I had beat it on steam and then after I beat it again there was another track.
