i was flipping through my pcgamer again to read bout some new games and stumbled upon a HL2 advert i havent seen before...is it ok post post the scan here?(as ive seen someone else post a advert from pcg about a speaker system w/ gman in it and mods said it was ok)

Ads aren't copyrighted afaik, it's meant to be advertisement, so I doubt there's a problem with giving some free HL2 advertisement here, on the Half-Life 2 forum. *cough*

alright, the advert is a tall picture w/ a black background, the HL2 symbol in white is in the middle the middle of the picture, on the bottom are the logos for Valve, Vivendi, and in the left bottom corner, the rating box has RP written on it.

not that much of an advert but still gives us another sign that hl2 is very near completion

edit: btw...if any mods could please confirm whether or not its allowed to post scans of adverts(no words from any articles in the picture) that would be great.

Well I wouldn't post it unless a mod said it would be okay. Munro seems to be kind of paraniod about breaking copyright laws. I guess better safe than sorry.

The esrb doesn't actually play the games....game companies send them a short video of things that would be considered bad. So hl2 would have clips of zombies being split in half, some combat, alyx nude (just kidding), or whatever else that might not be considered right for kids

If you look at the Doom3 movie released at an E3 a couple years ago, it too has a ESRB rating of "RP". "RP" means nothing about how soon a game will be released.

Your telling me, when i went to go buy UT2K4 and Far Cry I had to take my brother with me so I can prove i have and adult with me when buying and M rated game. It sucks so much.

And the ad is just a white HL2 logo with the company symbols and copyright notices, thats it...its so simple, it makes you think...

Well even when the game goes officially RP (being rated) I bet the raters will be in awe and just steal the copy and never rate it so them bastards at ESRB can play keep it to themselves forever....

Refresh my memory please, do you have to be 17 or 18 to buy an M rated game? I keep thinking of being 17 to get into an R rated movie, and I forget if its the same for a M rated game.

It also depends on how old you look. I have friends who havent been asked for id's since they turned 14 because they look like theyre 20. Its the opposite for me, im 17 but I look like Im 14. Ill probably be asked for an id until im 30. :cheers:
