HL2 and CS:S icons added to Steam

The latest Steam update has added the icons for Counter-Strike: Source and Half-Life 2 to platform.gcf: another clue that gold may not be too far off!

There are several sizes of icons in the two .ico files - use a package like Irfanview to view all the images.

Awsome, the CS: Source icon looks similiar to Digital Paintball icons.
 
Thanks man, I allways keep Steam closed, I better keep it open now.
 
So the icons are only in the folder? not in the Games list?(is something wrong woth my games list? i cant see it)

Correct. Though most people are beginning to feel we'll be seeing them tomorrow...

Umm...did that mean that theyr not supposed to be in the games list yet?

Yep, me too, for a sec, I was scared. Finally, our patience will be rewarded, Hl2 Will make people say: "Doom 3, whats that ?
 
I don't have them on my Games list. I do have the "Play Games" and "Browse Games" though...could it be that it didn't see my CZ key?

Didn't they say that we would get "plenty of warning" before the release of the beta for CS: Source? I mean, wouldn't they post on steam's site a press release saying "Hey, CS: Source preloading tomorrow". I hope they do release it tomorrow, but im not getting my hopes up.

Oh, least I got me a new avatar out of the hl2 icon.
 
What I don't get is that in the valve site in "projects" hl2 is not listed. WTF?!
 
my bad. It meens stuff that is all ready released, not things that are in the process of being made.

They also said cybercafes would get it on the 28th. *shrug*
 
I think we will see the icon on coming soon tomorrow (preload)
 
Might very well be, it looks simmilar to CZ somehow.
 
You know, I really have the feeling that Valve will totally surprise us with the release date. Honestly, I think one day, a day very close by, we will wake up and go online, and see the internet flowing with HL2 goodness, telling us that the game, absolutely unexpectadly, just went gold. Or, they will keep that part secret, and tell us that the game is being released the same day, or the next day. Wouldn't that be something? Going to bed, having no clue when it's going to be released, then all of the sudden BANG, it's out.

Besides, haven't you noticed, and correct me if I'm wrong, that Valve has been rather quiet lately? I mean, I sent an e-mail to them over a week ago, and no response... I think we are in for something... BIG TIME...
 
i dont know if you all updated your steam yet but its been updated so you can add your ati cdkey to your account. looks like cs:s beta is on schedule.
 
I was about to post on that. let me do it anyways.

Once the HL2 icon comes up; couldn't people with the ati/hl2 coupons download hl2? huh? huh? eh? eh?

Umm, not it wasn't. Atleast among the fixes and additions on the steam site makes no reference to it, and neither have I found a place to enter it.

If that did happen, watch it happen on August 18th... That is my first day back to school.

I love it. I think the HL2 icon is more than an icon. It is the symbol of the game. A symbol of the image I will be double clicking 7 times a day for the rest of my life. It will be a major part of me. Having unnecessary graphics and colors in it will only cause disorientation and unpredictability in my subconscience. Long live the nice simple bad ass HL2 icon!

Ok maybe I should stop skipping my meds...
 
the icons are in the platform.gcf file, you've gotta use a tool to unpack them before you can view them
