I was checking out some of the recent standouts at Digitalart.org and I found this one, entitled "Gordon Freeman".

To me, the perspective is a bit funny, but all in all, some great work.

EDIT: Appearently, a lot of it is compositing from textures and screenshots from the game, with a good deal of post processing effects in photoshop, but it's still pretty cool.

only thing i noticed was that gordon was wearing the older suit, but the picture is really nice

gordan looks like he has a greasy ass face

It's difficult to keep up a strong facial cleansing regiment when you are saving the world. Twice.

Now look at Barney! His complection is fair and nice. He has no greasy face syndrome, and he was running around more then gordon. I mean, hell, he got from the starting gate, to the bottom of a pit, to end of the level in the time it took Gordon to get into his damned suit! Sheesh, forget about the underdog! *grumble grumble*

That's some very nice artwork there. Saved it to the comp. :)

Thats cool!!!

I like everything but gordons face it isnt liek gordon

the image itself is wonderful, extremely pretty overall, especially the background and the antlion... but Gordon, especially his head (his forehead is teensy) looks a little messed up.

I think it is really cool how he used the HL2 textures. It's like... Game converted into art...
I can't explain it. But it's neat.

The attention to detail is simply stunning. The walls and debris around Gordon have an extremely gritty, rough texture that compliments the ruined landscpe. Both Gordon's armour and the antlions skin reflect the light subtly, which adds to the realistic feel. It took me a while to realise the background was a screenshot- which shows just how wonderfully detailed the foreground is, as it blends in with real images.

one word: OMG

question:

Did you draw that with your bare hands and a Pen? or totaly in the computer?

can you make a Tutorial on how you did that? taking Textures etc?

Hey! It's funny how closely Gordan Resembles the Terminator. Especially because of their relation, both "weapons" released at certain points in time (if you get my link). Hell, you Gordan would probably say at the end of HL1, HL2 and HL3 "I'll be back" if he had any vocal cords. I think valve should code him some personally :D. But then again, it's great to have a sense of mystery behind the man you are, and also makes you more like Gordan as you play him, because theirs no deep voice to remind you you're not really him. I also find that Gordan must be really like me, neither of us talk :D
