HL2-Based MMO

Im thinking of making a Half-Life-Based MMO game. For those who dont know, MMO is short for Massively Multiplayer Online, meaning ALOT of people can play in the game at once. Im looking for some people to help me with this project. I know itll take a long time, but Im up to it.

Have you considered the monetary needs to put this together? Bandwidth alone, plus at least a few high end servers linked together in some kind of farm setup.

Other than that, I worry about the ability of Source to keep up with that many people or the size of the world necessary for this kind of endeavor without lagging.

I'm curious to see if you have answers to these concerns. I'd love to see a mmo with that level of graphic fidelity.

Haha you silly bastard. How many projects do you have going right now? My main advice to you is, stick with one project. Channel all of your creative juice into it and hope for the best.

I chose this one and Im going to stick with it.
Yes, I know it will take a enormous amount of time and Im up to it.
Ill have my friends over at OGaming to help me with that if they can...the servers. If not then Ill find someone who can...hopefully.

Is anybody interested in helping out. Also, heres some updates:
Name: Black Mesa Online
Teams: Resistance or Combine
Each team will have its own unique weapons such as Resistance: Crowbar and Combine: Stun Baton. Your objective: capture the opposing team's base. What you think?

Why would that have to be MMO? Also, it doesn't sound really original. Perhaps a better description of your "vision" would help.

I honestly dont think its possible to do MMO with Source. Simple as that.

Its possible, ones already in the works.

My suggestion is dont bother. If you do succeed, which for a third party to make a completely free 3d MMORPG is horrendously unlikely, you will have earned all the respect in the world.
