What if they put the audio bug in the game on purpose?

What if they already have a fix for it, waiting to be released at the press of a button?

What if this whole bug issue is just an elaborate scheme?

People that download warez will download the current version... and most likely be unable to get a patch for it through steam... forcing them to buy the game if they want to play it with a decent performance.

Yeah... prob. not the case... but an intresting theory nonetheless

it's a completely stupid and unethical thing to do. no developer/publisher would be that stupid. it's like selling half a book, so that when people write em in .txt's and put them online, there will be only half a book, but a week later, they'll release a patch, or perhaps the next half of the book so that you can finish it. it's a poor comparison, but you get the point

a) The game still works without the audio stutter - so even if the patch is released and fecks up installs the emporio group wont release it
b) Emperio will crack it in hours

my point exactly? how do you expect to make money when you're selling a dodgy product? do you seriously believe the majority of people who buy the game will want to stikc around for a few months for the update? no they'll return it, or think "wtf is this bulls**t" and dump it. you think that the only people who are playing half life 2 are the people logged in on this site. you're so wrong. think outside... don't be a fool!

already 3 emporio releases have been nuked, so i wouldn't wait around for some lamers to crack the game (i know i didn't)

Requiring internet connection is ALREADY a dodgy product. In case you forgot, Half-life2 is a single player game. no internet, no steam. And i have yet to see ppl moaning about patches. You saw them perhaps?
Which months are you talking about btw. If its a planned bug( for sure) a patch will be available after the pirates get their releases running @P2P. So max 1 week and patch arrived. Mean? No more than Steamsh*t.
Honest customers have just again to suffer, for Valve getting more money.
