Hey guys,
I've been using HL2 for a very long time, I stopped playing it for a year and now that I've reinstalled it I've been getting soooo many errors...
First off, I got the BSOD which was to do with my nvidia drivers (geforce 6800) which I just updated. Then I got a "white screen of death" which was fixed by mat_bloom 0. Then my monitor turned off, and my computer became unresponsive, which was to do with the refresh rate. Then I started getting "engine errors" and buffer problems.
I've fixed all of these, but now when I play HL2 it just says "hl2.exe has encountered an error and has to be closed. sorry for the inconvenience". or something like that.
If I post technical information, will any of you guys help me? I'm asking because i'm a senior member of another forum and I always used to hate people posting messages like this...
