It should work on firefox, just give it a minute. The pre-loader doesn't really work.

I think the date is wrong. The timer I have now says 28 days and such... :(

I got a day counter also and it says 28 days left and nothing else. Maybe your counter is tuned for diffrent tiemzones. I did test it and when i set my computer to nov,15 2004 11:59 it said there was one minute left.

its pretty cute , but u shouldve put something related to HL2 maybe...

One or more of those is programmed wrong, because they display different times.

The very first one just goes off your local time. The ones after that actually work on gmt - 7 hours time (because it will be released in that timezone). Just ignore the first one.

heh all these timer things are awesome....just get your hl2 wallpaper..... edit the source code on someone's timer and combine them and you get yor own timer/desktop...

like my crappy effort...

Oh noo..... now everyone knows i still run Win 98.....

More counter stuff, but this time it's for the desktop.

Banner Version
http://www.auburn.edu/~fullemg/CounterBackground.zip
-Very accurate
Example
http://www.auburn.edu/~fullemg/back/The Countdown.html

Larger, Simpler Version
http://auburn.edu/~fullemg/CounterBackground_Screen.zip
-Less accurate, kinda. This version uses a simple time update method. It will cheat, but when the seconds < 0 then it will update the time to the correct time. So it may look like it's jumping.
Examples
http://www.auburn.edu/~fullemg/back/TheCountDown-Screen-Middle.html
http://www.auburn.edu/~fullemg/back/TheCountDown-Screen-Top.html

If anyone wants them, but in diffrent colors then please let ke know.

To make the first countdown work correctly you can set the windows clock to Valve's timezone :p

Error : If the program had less then 10 days to go it would stop counting. But it's fixed now. Sorry

Problems Solved i was testing the wrong folder on my site.

I have another new counter. This one I call a stealth counter. It will look like you have the half-life 2 symbol on your desktop, but when you click on it the countdown appears. Click the symbol again to hide it.

Example

Download
http://auburn.edu/~fullemg/back/Stealth_Countdown.zip

that is completely freaking sweet ... im gonna use the stealth one

can someone please tell me the color specifications that is used for the green background in the stealth desktop ... because i dont want black behind all my icons ... thanks

The steam color is Red : 76, Green : 88 and Blue : 68.

The bars behind the icons were making me angry too. :smoking:

If anyone has some ideas for the stealth counter let me know. Colors, Images, etc...

Counter Cheat: to see the ending for most of my counters right click on the image and press play. Most likely your counter will skip to the hl2 is here image. And then right click and choose play again to return to the start.

Some test counters, No Purpose, yet

is there a way to change the time zone for the counters and how can i put the counter as my wallpaper?

For most of my newer counters you can change the timezone by opening up the html file in notepad and changing all the -8's to the timezone you want.(-8 pst,-6 cst,-5 est)

And to set a counter as your background

Download the zip.
Extract it to a folder
Open up desktop properties. (where you change your background)
Click browse.
Find the html file you want to set as your background.

do you think you could make a stealth counter like the original one ... with the half life 2 logo in the middle ... but make the background of the page black and the flash file background black too?? but keep the half life emblem yellow ??? i would LOVE that ... thanks ...
