Hi, I just put together a new system with Athlon 64X2 4800, Nvidia 7600GT, 2 gig of ram and XP Professional. I have an account with steam and downloaded HL2 and Lost Coast. Started playing HL2, saving games along the way. Now when I go back and load a game, the system crashes as soon as I move. Windows error reporting says problem is caused by HL2 engine. I tried updated video and sound drivers, disabling programs such as anti-virus and also suggestions offered on Steam powered page such as verifying GCF cache files but nothing helps.
I can load a saved game from Lost Coast, it's only on Half Life 2 that I have this problem. In previous much older system I didn't have this problem.
