Hi Everyone,
Hopefully you can help me
I've just reinstalled HL2 after like 8 months or so and wanted to play it again now i have a DX9 card.. so after installing and downloading 7 billion gigs of steam updates i went to play the game.
Now i played it for some mins and thought everything was cool.. then the game crashed totally.. i wasnt able to CTRL+ALT+DEL out of it and you can hear the game sounds still (but in a crashed style) basically then my PC just reboots. The game now only runs for about 2 mins before doing this and it has done it as soon as the menu comes up once.
I've tried updating my NVidia drivers and everything, i just wondered if anyone had any ideas? I dont think my CPU is gettin too hot as i check it in the bios everytime it crashes.
Hardware is as follows: CPU: Intel Pentium 4 3.00 GHz, Video: ViewSonic VX924 on nVidia GeForce 6600 GT
Hope someone can help as the games look so much better now on this card!
Thanks
Rich
