HL2 CS:S Not Starting

It goes to the "Prepairing" after you double click HL2 CS:S. But it just never opens...the dialog box disappears...but hl2CS:S never shows up in Task Manager or anything, tried restarting steam...Somebody help me

my best guess is either try validating ur steam filesor reinstalling from scratch

You use Xfire by any chance? There's an issue with winsock that causes (at least my) Source games to not work after/while it runs (does EXACTLY what you're describing). I end up having to restart my computer and have Xfire not run at all before I run Source, otherwise I get stuck restarting again.

I didn't use Xfire, cause I not even know what is Xfire. But still, it won't works.
All my game didn't work.
