HL2 delayed?

the words that we all fear.

lets say it is delaed again for some reason.

what will you do? and this is not a poll,

i would personally do nothing. then one day on my way home lets say i pass valve building. coincidence, i got no problem setting fire to that shit. hahahahahaahhahahaha

but seriously, if they dont release summer, then that fat as newell needs to fire himself cuss he cant runa company for jack shit, they already admited their first mistake of optimisim for sep 30 release. fagg cant you keep your emppployes in reality. plus i dont mind being a consultant for valve for a free copy of hl2.
 
If it doesnt come out this year, All I can do is hope real game developers will make the games Im waiting for so I can just ignore silly Valve.
 
Firstly, I'd pick a better title, and not make a stupid thread showing how much of a git you are. How does it go..."It's better to let people think you're a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt".
 
Setting fire to Valve's offices would make the game never come out.

Secondly, if they miss the second date it doesn't mean that "they can't run a company." - It means the game took more polishing than they expected. Which shows they wouldn't release a buggy game.. which in itself shows a good company.
 
I would be pissed of, I would proberly move onto editing something else. Nothing much really you can complain about because at the end of the day they don't need to bring out the game. Its not like valve have to bring it out. Unless they are contracted with the publisher, but anyway. Whatever at the end oif the day. If valve don't release I move on, simple :P
 
I would be annoyed, but I'd accept it and concentrate on other games. Like Doom 3. :D

why does everyone hate valve? No-one has any idea whats going on in their offices, people just automatically assume that valve are lazy just because they're adding polish to the best game ever (in many peoples opinions). If the game came out on sep 30th, everyone would have bought it and it would have been a huge sucsess, but it wouldnt have been that good. Unbelivable amounts of things have been added scince sep 30th.

Valve are one of the best developers i can think of, and dont forget they got hit really hard when the scource code was stolen. many people just gave up and left, and its taken ages to pick up everything and get the project back on track. and just to let you know, the game is fineshed. its playable from start to finish with no gaps or breaks. all they're doing now is adding some final improvements and playtesting the games for bugs.

And to quote the fatman himself, "if we can make the best game ever and that means delaying the game till 2005, we'll do it without hesitation". But dont worry too much- this quote is actually quite old ;)

Keep up the good work! Maybe you can be Valve's consultant when you finish kindergarten.

no they didnt, they underestimated how long it would take to make. Its hardly a lie, LOADS of developers delay games by this much, its just HL2 is in the spotlight so we notice it! and if you hate them so much, why are you posting on a site dedicated to their creation?
 
I would be pissed for 1 minute, then move on because it's just a game..not worth being pissed about

I haven't been pissed at valve ever..not even with the hl2 delay ..i saw no real good reason to ..
 
its amazing how after such a successful game in HL1 that pple expect or dare i say, *demand* the next installment of the series without thinking.. "Valve is not related to me, they are not joined at my hip, and don't need to do anything if they don't feel like"

visiting these forums for almost 1 year now, i have come to expect threads like these.. :|

True, but at least they constantly reply e-mails and take all of our opinions when we send them - while reassuring. Just try your luck sending an email to 3D realms, they'll send it back after 3 years saying "when it's done".

One thing I like about valve is that their neither product or market orientated, they are customer orientated (if such a term did exsist) - and make sure we get our money's worth.
 
im confused why are some of u guys pissed? its jst a game, if they fail again, its like u cant get mad at a retard for not learning how to do addition. hes only a retard. why u getting pissed. valve only failed serveral times, its okay, they are only a retard, lets give them a cookie rather getting mad at them.

and i do actually find it amusing that people are posting on a HL2 forum, and they have above 300 posts, and they are saying "its only a game". im not saying this to oppose your veiw, im just wondering why you are posting so much on a website for a game you obviosly dont care about... and its rather amusing that people are shouting at other people for liking HL2. Thats like walking into a football staium after the world cup and saying "why are you all upset? its only a game of football".

And anyway, why are people getting so stressed about the fact that OTHER PEOPLE like it? sure, its only a game, but this is the single most promising game there is, and im sure it will become the greatest game ever released scince the dawn of computer gaming. I mean, just look at it! dont you just want to play it now? huh?

in other words, to put a long story short, people like HL2 and dont want it to be delayed. get over it.

im spending over 2g on hl2, so your analysis of the post count is irrelavent. the game is really great, wheater or no u like valve or not, just playing the game for the graphics is nice. i personally dislike doom3, the idea is so far up someone ass it passes the rgaphics and just becomes a stupid game. but at the end i dont mind playing it for the graphics, i saw some of the screenies of the spaceship, the control panel and rails were ****ing sweet. so why are others giving a dam if one likes it or not, i dont know, im just saying, be a man, your goona say something do it. dont make me start listing the dates. u can only **** up once. second mistake is not forgiven. thats all im saying.
 
If it doesn't make summer, I'm downloading the stolen build. :frown:
 
If the game is delayed I'll be kind of upset and once again go into cryosleep-state in the HL2 issue.
