Greetings! I am trying to run HL2 Episode 2 from a folder (w/o installation) on XP SP2, Pentium 4, 2.6Mhz, 1.5GB RAM. I created a shortcut on the desktop with following parameters:
"C:\Half Life 2 episode 2\hl2.exe" -steam -game ep2
When I click on it, a window pops up with this Valve logo (a bald dude with stuff in his head), after which a "Powered by Source" logo is displayed. After this, the windows just closes and nothing happens. No warning, no error, no nothing. In the Process Explorer, I see the hl2.exe process appear, then disappear after about 10 seconds.
I tried to search the forum first, but maybe I'm not using the right keywords. Could you please, please help me!!!

) anyway it just closes, vanishes, in task manager i see the process appear then disappear. Help US!
