hl2 error on a 9600xt

what would cause this problem ? , the 9600xt is brand new and just installed with the latest drivers from ati's site =

I get the same problem I have the same graphics card as you and I have read about problems like this on the net one thing you could try is press ctrl alt del and set hl2 or steam to lower priorty. Also you can try the omega drivers 4.1
